OUR SKILLS CLINICS
New to cyclocross? Want to brush up on your skills? Our mission is to promote a vibrant and inclusive cyclocross community, specifically to increase participation of junior athletes and women and gender-diverse (WGD*) athletes. To help build this communicty we host skills clinics the evening before our race. We offer 2 no-cost skills clinics geared toward these participants. Clinics are targeted to novice and intermediate level athletes, and include basic cyclocross skill sets as well as on-course preview and instruction. Clinics are led by former World Cup racers and local pros.
*We are using “women and gender diverse” (WGD) to refer to all women and non-binary people. We fully recognize that many binary men, particularly trans and queer men, also do not have a safe space in cycling, which they deserve. We want to address the fact that USA Cycling membership is over 80% male by providing a safe space for women and non-binary people, who may feel most comfortable practicing cyclocross skills in a predominantly WGD group. However, we welcome support and encouragement from all allies!
