Friday Evening Clinics:
CLINIC INFORMATION
With the goal of increasing participation numbers of WGD* and junior athletes, we are offering 2 skills clinics on Friday, September 29th, the evening before the race. One will be geared toward junior racers, and the other for WGD atheletes and they will be instructed by former top-level and local pros. Clinics will be tailored for novice to intermediate skill levels. Each clinic will be capped at 25 riders, with spots reserved for individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) participants.
COURSE: Our course consists of an approximately 1.6 mile lap that includes a mix of fun and technical turns, punchy climbs, and longer power sections. There are 2 run-ups per lap and 1 set of barriers. We expect the fastest riders to cover the lap in about 7 minutes. Expect baller views.
REGISTRATION: PLEASE PRE-REGISTER. Day-of registration is available for a $5 late fee, and registration will close 30 minutes prior to each race.
RACE LICENSES (not for runners): Green Mountain Cyclocross is a USA Cycling (USAC) sanctioned event. What does this mean? You will need EITHER an annual OR a 1-day USAC racing license. Beginner (Cat 5) 1-day licences cost $10 and can be purchased at checkout. 'Experienced' 1-day licences (Cat 1-4 or anyone who has previously held a higher category) cost $25 and can be purchased here or on-site by scanning a QR code at registration.
For Non-Binary racers: USAC has given us permission to issue the $10, 1-day race license without requiring you to select the ‘male’ or ‘female’ gender options. Please pre-register here, and then use the paper form available at event check-in to purchase the 1-day USAC race license on-site and bring cash or check. If already have an annual license and had to select a binary gender, you may still register or this race.
All junior races will be FREE thanks to generous support from Nick Depasquale Photography. Junior racers will still need a USAC racing license, also available at no cost for juniors through USA Cycling's website.
Register for a 2nd race for $18!
PRE-RIDING: There is NO course pre-riding during a race. To pre-ride, ONLY enter the course BEYOND the start/finish line when the official confirms that the last rider of the current race has begun their last lap. DO NOT PASS anyone still racing. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
STAGING: Staging for each race will occur 10 minutes before the designated start time. Staging will be by order of CrossResults ranking, followed by day-of registration.
CAMPING: There will be limited camping spots available on-site Friday night. Please message the Race Director at greenmountaincx@gmail.com if you plan on camping. We will collect $15 per head.
NO PETS: Sorry, the Catamount Outdoor Center does not allow pets. We know, your dog is the best behaved of all the dogs, but please leave that beast at home.
FOOD AND DRINK: Lawson's Finest Liquids will be hosting a beer garder, open from 11:30 to 5:00 (just enough time for you single speeders to grab a refreshment after the race). Please bring cash if possible. There will be a food truck and coffee options available. We will also have cider donuts and apples at the GMCX team tent for a suggested donation of $1 per thing.
