Saturday Afternoon Clinics:
CLINIC INFORMATION
With the goal of increasing participation numbers of WGD* and junior athletes, we are offering 2 skills clinics on Saturday, October 5th, the evening before the race. One will be geared toward junior racers, and the other for WGD athletes and they will be instructed by former top-level and local pros. Clinics will be tailored for novice to intermediate skill levels. These clinics are FREE thanks to support from the Richard Tom Foundation. Each clinic will be capped at 20 riders, with spots reserved for individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) participants.
COURSE: Our course consists of an approximately 1.75 mile lap that includes a mix of fun and technical turns, punchy climbs, and longer power sections. There are 2 run-ups per lap and 1 set of barriers. We expect the fastest riders to cover the lap in about 7 minutes. Expect baller views.
REGISTRATION: PLEASE PRE-REGISTER. Day-of registration is available for a $5 late fee, and registration will close 15 minutes prior to each race.
RACE LICENSES: This year GMCX is sanctioned under Eastern Fat Tire Associated (EFTA). No membership or annual licenses are required. There is NO requirement for a USA Cycling license.
All junior races will be FREE thanks to generous support from Nick Depasquale Photography.
Register for a 2nd race for $20!
PRE-RIDING: There is NO course pre-riding during a race. To pre-ride, ONLY enter the course BEYOND the start/finish line when the official confirms that the last rider of the current race has begun their last lap. DO NOT PASS anyone still racing. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
STAGING: Staging for each race will occur 10 minutes before the designated start time. Staging will be by order of CrossResults ranking, followed by day-of registration.
CAMPING: There will be limited camping spots available on-site Saturday and Sunday nights. Reservations can be purchased on Bikereg.
NO PETS: Sorry, the Catamount Outdoor Center does not allow pets. We know, your dog is the best behaved of all the dogs, but please leave that beast at home.
FOOD AND DRINK: Frost Brewing will be hosting a beer garden, open from 11:30 to 4:30 (just enough time for you single speeders to grab a refreshment after the race). We will be grilling dogs, burgers, and veggie burgers for purchase by donation, and we will also have cider donuts and apples at the GMCX team tent for a suggested donation of $1.50 per donut, $.50 per apple.

- Don't have a cyclocross bike? That's ok! Your gravel bike or hardtail mountain bike is good enough to get you started!
- VELOCIO GIVEAWAY: we are fortunate to be able to give away 2 gift cards ($350 and $150) to some lucky participants in our WGD skills clinic on Friday night! We recognize the value of quality gear and clothing for individuals who are new to cycling. A great kit can provide motivation and help athletes feel a sense of identity as a cyclist. You must be present to win!
